| they already suck up every month enough of our money just cause of stupid laws say we have to have insurance. The short answer to your question is YES, but the real answer I would say is NO. Let me explain: Unless you or someone in youf family owns an insurance company, there is no reason to go and give them more money at all. The reality is, adding a different color light bulb to your car is illegal, we are NOT ALLOW to modify any car on any way without the consent from the authorities. So to start, you TT convertion (just like mine) is 100% illegal, even if you used every part stock from Nissan. Your VIN specifies your Z is a NA, and for the law, it is a NA. You should go to the Department of Transportation and find out how to make the convertion legal. You would probably spend as much money on the legal papers as you did on the conversion. Then, and only then, you can go to the insurance company and inform them of the conversion, and what kind of car you now have, so they update the records and probably start charging you more money, and still, if you have full insurance, they will treat your almost brand new car (as you just replace like 80% of the drive train probably) as a used crappy car worth almost no money, so don't get on an accident cause they WILL NOT give you back all the money you just put in your Z. If you tell your insirance you did the conversion, and you don't have legal papers for it, they probably tell you you need the papers, cause if you get on an accident, your car would be illegal, so they can not cover it. Simple. So the simple solution: do not tell them nothing, and accept the fact that you are driving an illegal car, and if you ever get on an accident, make sure nobody finds out about the mods and conversions, cause in both cases (being your fault or not) insurances WILL NOT PAY for damages to you or others if they find out. If someone here thinks I'm wrong, or knows something else that changes what I said here now, please tell us, cause I see no reason to tell the insurance at all. My opinion.
Thanks Danny Post Disclaimers (in the words of Glenn Nakata, TT member #5206): 1. Yes this might be a repost – Sorry. 2. No, I did not search to see if someone already posted it. Do you search prior to every post you make? 3. It might be old news to you, but new news to me and likely as well for a few others, so just let it slide. 4. It is MHO, which may or may not agree with yours. 5. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to express it, though at times it is best to STFU. 6. If you like it, that is all that matters.
